QUESTION NO 14.
QUESTION: Councillor E. Walsh
"To ask the Manager for a report on the progress of the Bowling Green at Greenhills Community Centre?"
REPLY:
Works have re-commenced on the construction of the All Weather Bowling Green.
It is expected that construction works will be complete by December 2008/January 2009, subject to suitable weather conditions and the Parks Department being satisfied that the required level tolerances as set out in the specifications for the works have been achieved. On completion of the Bowling Green, re-instatement works will be carried out to all areas impacted upon by the construction works. These works will include the re-instatement of grass and tarmacadam areas, and car park extension works in the vicinity of Greenhills Community Centre and the re-instatement of parkland and playing pitches within Greenhills Park. The timescale for implementing these reinstatement works will be subject to suitable weather conditions.
The completed Bowling Green will be enclosed by a limestone wall and railing which will incorporate a pedestrian gate and a maintenance access gate.
