MOTION NO. 7
MOTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave
CATHAOIRLEACH'S BUSINESS
"That the Manager give a report on the need for maintenance of the Willow trees fallen and existing on the bank of the Owendoher River at the Laurel apartments Rathfarnham Village."
REPORT:
The trees in question at this location will be inspected by the Parks Department in conjunction with the Council’s Drainage Maintenance Department with a view to assessing appropriate action. Any proposed works will be subject to the necessary funding being secured by both Departments.
Any necessary maintenance work to live trees located adjacent the River Owendoher will be considered by the Parks Department in the context of the 2008/09 Arboricultural Programme.
The Council’s Drainage Maintenance Department will remove any fallen trees, branches or built up debris from trash screens situated at the mouth of culverts or buried pipes. This is done in order to prevent the occurrence of blockages and subsequent possible flooding risk to adjacent third party property.
