At the last meeting the Chairman indicated that a workplan for the Committee should be considered at the next meeting.
The following are three initial suggestions for consideration.
(a) Development Plan projects/plans.
(b) Economic policy for South Dublin County.
(c) Sub group on traditional urban centres, (Suggested by Cllrs Coburn & Lavelle.)
To ask the Manager to report on efforts to improve pedestrian amenity and safety in Lucan Village including in particular to provide new signalised pedestrian crossings both at La Banca and west of Lucan Garda Station and to repair and widen footpaths between Ardeevin and the Garda Station?
That this Area Committee recommends that South Dublin County Council initiate the statutory process as laid down in the Derelict Sites Act 1990 to enter both the Molloy site at Coolamber, Newcastle Road and the Eleveden Properties site between the existing Tullyhall Estate and the Adamstown Link Road onto the Register of Derelict Sites for the reasons that these site presently detract from the visual amenity of their area and pose potential public health and safety risks; and furthermore requests that the Council use the proceeds of any derelict sites levy imposed on the owners of these sites to fund works to generally tidy-up and make safe these sites including securing the boundaries of the sites from trespassers.

To ask the Manager, in line my previous motions on this matter, to make available to the elected members details of the Department of Education and Skill's GIS data for the South Dublin County area provided to this council as confirmed by the department in their submission dated 30th June 2010 on the proposed amendments to draft county development plan (submission ref. Amend0019)?
"To ask the Manager when the acquisition of title to part of the lands at Raheen Close, Springfield/ Whitebrook Park will be registered with the Property Registration Authority, the likely timeframe in obtaining title, the latest discussions with Dublin City Council concerning land exchanges which involve this site also and if the Manager predicts that this matter will come to finality within 6 months?"
That this Council will arrange to provide additional bin collection services for those who normally have their collection on Monday and are inconvenienced by the six Monday bank holidays when it is currently proposed that no collection will take place on these days.
