Letter, dated 10th December 2012, from Galway City Council regarding their motion passed in relation to Property Tax.
To ask that 'short term parking only' signs are placed in the car park attached to Aras Rualach as there are complaints that the car park is constantly full with cars parked for long periods or all day.
Given that the Draft Budget was drawn up in advance of the Govt Budget, and that the latter stipulates that the property tax will apply to all Council owned housing stock, the likely impact of same will be in the region of €1m for 2013. Can the Manager clarify if this will be passed on to tenants through increased rents or, alternatively, how will its impact be provided for in this Draft Budget?
That the Council request the Gardai at Clondalkin to ensure that vehicles are not parking on the double yellow lines outside the Social Welfare office at entrance to the County Council carpark.
1. To ask the Manager to provide complete details of the full range of current and proposed charges for grave spaces for 2013?
2. To ask the Manager to confirm if the Draft provides for increased charges for members of the public who wish to avail of the services at Ballymount, and if so, please provide list of current and proposed charges?
QUARTERLY ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR STATISTICE (JAN-SEP 2012)
That this Committee commends the work of the Parks Department with particular reference to the planting and maintenance of the Hornbeam trees all along the Neilstown Road in Clondalkin and hopes that the obvious success of this project will inspire further tree planting projects in the Clondalkin area.
2013 Arboricultural Programme
Firstly to thank the Manager for the works at the railings in Palmerstown Woods. However, since there are adjoining railings that can be easily opened by vandals, to ask the Manager if these areas can also receive palisade fencing as otherwise the vandals will simply cut open these railings?
To ask the Manager, as a short term objective could the Clondalkin Tidy Towns group have access to the land around the Round Tower in Clondalkin and be assisted by Council staff in cleaning up that area. In the longer term, could a plan be devised for a monastic garden at this location, which could be accessible during the day but visible through traditional style wrought iron gates at all times?
