It is the policy objective of this Council in conjunction with appropriate bodies to develop renewable energy sources including solar energy.
To upgrade our Industrial and Commercial Parks so as to encourage more business to locate there and therefore create more jobs in the County.
To develop a strategy to protect, enhance and exhibit all the heritage and old sites and old buildings within the County.
That the Council directs the Chief Executive to include a policy on the use of natural signifiers such as rivers, hedgerow and strands of trees to dictate the layout of future developments.
That the Council directs the Chief Executive to include a policy on the decrease in water pressure in Glendoher area of Rathfarnham.
The County Development Plan will seek to prioritise meeting the housing need of the existing population living within the County.
That the Plan will ensure that no higher density Development will take place as part of infill social housing schemes within existing Communities.
That this Council inserts a specific objective in the Development plan to require as part of all new residential and commercial developments, and in existing developments where appropriate, provision to be made for facilities including local/neighbourhood shops, childcare facilities, schools and recreational facilities, renewable electricity generation, water heating and water collection facilities and to seek their provision concurrent with development.
Update on Business Support Grant
That the Council directs the CEO to make adequate provision for the development of sustainable communities in terms of community facilities, public amenities and sporting facilities and pitches. And that adequate services and amenities are provided to existing communities.
That this Council commits to using renewable energy wherever possible (e.g. for housing, community infrastructure, businesses, street lighting, etc) and to installing more energy efficient street lighting across the County and that this objective be reflected in the County Development Plan.
NRA Allocation 2015
That this Council directs the Chief Executive to ensure that any area, identified through CFRAMS maps and studies, as being at risk of flooding should be protected from development until such time as any and all prevention and mitigation measures identified through CFRAMS have been fully implemented.
The County Development Plan will look at the best use for old industrial estates with a lot of vacant units and rezone the land if needed.
Building Heights
That this Council directs the Chief Executive to include an appropriate new policy, objectives and actions in the Development Plan to retain and further strengthen the policy outlined in 1.4.16 of the existing Development Plan to prevent a significant marked increase in building height (of new residential developments) in close proximity to existing one and two storey housing.

That this Council directs the Chief Executive to ensure the 78,000 people employed in the County have reasonable access to good quality county wide public transport to get to their places of work.
That the Council directs the Chief Executive to include a policy on the enforcement of existing legislation and regular inspections of Protected Structures required to maintain said structures, many of which are in disrepair.
That the Council directs the Chief Executive to include a policy on the need to limit hard landscaping in residential developments.
The County Development Plan will seek to increase the participation of residents and communities in the planning process through the provision of user friendly guides to planning law, regulations and the planning processes and through the promotion of dialogue between developers and residents in the pre-planning process.
That this Council ensures that any rezoning of land next to residential area is rezoned to open space or community uses.
