QUESTION: Councillor E. O'Brien

To ask the Chief Executive to quantify the number of water leaks dealt with by this Local Authority in the past 12 months and the number of times any such leak reoccurred having been attended to by the Local Authority.

REPLY:

SDCC Water Operations crews carried out a total of 705 repairs of bursts and leaks on the water network in the SDCC in the past 12 months (1st April 2014 to 31st March 2015).

We do not have any record of a repair failing and a leak recurring after our crews have attended.

Occassionally after a repair is carried out, another leak or burst can develop close to the original repair but rarely at the location of the original repair.
