"Bus Connects” is a Government project imposed on Dublin and being carried out by the Government’s Semi State Body NTA. South Dublin County Council’s only role in the planning of this proposal was to provide information on traffic flows. If “Bus Connects” is implemented it will have a devastating impact on the small businesses in our urban villages along the route and we know that many of these SME’s will not survive such a downturn and would probably go out of business for ever.
"That this Area Committee therefore calls on the Taoiseach and the Minister for Transport to provide details of the support package they intend to provide to help sustain these businesses during construction and post construction, furthermore that SDCC be compensated by Government to allow for a rates remission on these buildings during this period”
The time it has taken to re-let dwellings has nearly tripled from Jan 2018 with a time of 8.14 weeks to Jan 2019 with a time frame of 23.13 weeks. Why has there been such an increase in time? Can the chief executive make a statement on the matter?
To ask the Chief Executive how many families and individuals are currently homeless in South Dublin and how long on average families are spending in homelessness?
To ask the Chief Executive to provide a breakdown on all monies spent so far on the Dublin Mountains Flagship Project at the Hellfire/Massey's Wood, including how much has been spent by this council directly and how much has been spent through grants from other authorities?
"That this committee recognises the significant drop in impounding of equines in SDCC. Impounding is down 32% from 2017. The committee recognises there are improvements in enforcement and criteria in regards to the welfare and trading of horses nationally. Social projects like the Clondalkin Equine Club have played a small part in giving young horse owners in a urban environment a place they can safely stable their horses. It’s imperative that models such as the CEC are supported by the local authority into the future."

That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to make the relevant representations to utility companies and request that the junction boxes at the rear of Glenview Park, on Main Road Tallaght, are incorporated into the works at Balrothery in such a way that they are no longer an obstruction or eye sore in the area.
To ask the Chief Executive to present an up to date report in respect of the Play Space programme and will he confirm plans in that regard for 2019

"In noting the success of the StreetCanvas.ie project to publish artist work on council owned utility boxes throughout our area, that this Area Committee calls on our Council to consider an Memorandum of Understanding with remaining providers utility boxes to allow for the extension of the artwork under the existing scheme."
That this council calls on the Planning department to introduce a mechanism for establishing an authentic plebiscite for permeability requests that arise when new development is applied for adjacent to well established sites. Precedent was set during Clonburris SDZ plan that was debated and agreed to deal with the need to include existing well established communities in decisions that affect them.
