TENANT PARTICIPATION STRATEGY – FOR NOTING
This Committee welcomes the publication of the 3-year tree maintenance and works schedule at the November Area Committee. This Committee requests that South Dublin County Council bring a progress report on this work to Area Committee each quarter.
This Committee acknowledges the commitment and work done by South Dublin County Council in relation to tackling graffiti across the Rathfarnham / Templeogue / Firhouse / Bohernabreena areas. In light of the increase in funding approved in the 2026 budget in relation to graffiti removal this Committee requests that further engagement occurs with outside bodies such as the ESB in relation to the timely removal of graffiti.
To ask the chief executive how many applications were received for retention planning permission in 2025 for the Rathfarnham / Templeogue / Firhouse / Bohernabreena areas and how many have been granted?
To ask the chief executive how many active planning enforcement cases are currently live in the Rathfarnham Templeogue / Firhouse / Bohernabreena area?
That the area along Tower Road within the Village Centre Framework, from where the Tower Shopping Centre is marked as '9' on Figure 8.9 to the junction with Main Street is included as a mini framework within Chapter 8. Reason: To ensure that, should there ever be a proposal for redevelopment of any of the buildings, the Urban Design Strategy for Clondalkin includes parameters for development along this stretch of Tower Road, reflecting its context in the village centre.
To ask the Chief Executive if he will permit an SDCC social housing tenant to build an extension at their own expense, to meet the needs of a growing family?
To ask the Chief Executive would they give an updated timeframe and detailed report on the County Development Plan agreed for Saggart Local Area Plan now known as Saggart Framework plan?
That this Area Committee commit to allocate funds, circa €10-€20K, to plant 10 mini forests in the Clondalkin area in 2026.
Variation - Clondalkin Local Planning Framework
To ask the Chief Executive the timeline and quantity of solar bins planned for the Clondalkin , Newcastle , Rathcoole , Saggart and Brittas local electoral areas (LEA)?
That this Council insert an objective to remove electronic signs and desist from installing others, given the medieval character of the village and its tourism/amenity value.
That SDCC will strengthen and apply their shop-front design guidelines in the ACA Clondalkin village and that they develop an enforceable and strict code for shop-front design in our village ACA and that this is included as an objective!
That this council include an objective in the Clondalkin Framework plan that SDCC will hold public consultation on any future proposed Permability links or estate opening!
