That this Committee calls on the Manager responsible to accelerate the development of Waterstown Park as it is now in excess of 29 years in Council ownership and is the focal point of serious anti-social behaviour and is being taken over by motorcyclists and quaddies especially at week-ends and despite the provision of pathways etc not only are members of the public hesitant to use it due to the anti-social behaviour, but neighbouring residents have had to put up with a lot of intimidation and unruly behaviour which needs to be addressed by our Parks Department in conjunction with An Garda Síochana.

1. What catering facilities exist in our Garda stations particularly over night catering facilties?  Are these considered adequate?
2. What type sof ongoing in-service training is undertaken by Gardai and in what areas?
3. Do gardai have to undergo ongoing in service fitness and health training?
4. What is the average lifespan of a a Garda Patrol car and Motorcycle, and what is the average mileage accumulated on Garda vehicles?

1. To ask for a statement by the Garda Superintendent at Tallaght on his views regarding the campaign for a second Garda Station in Tallaght
2. To ask for an updated report on the progress towards the provision of CCTV in Tallaght
3. To ask for a report on initiatives taken by Tallaght Gardai in respect of the need to protect our Parks for the good of the community
4. To ask for a report on co- operation between An Garda Siochana and the operators of the LUAS to protect the service from crime and vandalism

That the Manager brings forward a report, detailing how the Council addresses the problem of fly tipping and dumping of rubbish in certain spots across the  County especially in back lanes and that this Committee requests that the Council mount a concerted campaign to reduce, and if possible to eliminate, this form of antisocial behaviour.

That the Manager brings forward a report on the provision of housing in this Area Committee and that the report includes not only the numbers on the housing list but also the provision of housing, including the type of accommodation requested, the average waiting time on lists at present, the way in which the system works and that this important item be fully discussed.

That the Manager presents a detailed report on any progress made on the taking-in-charge of the open space adjacent to Brookvale Estate, Lucan.

That the Area Committee notes with concern the ongoing severe littering and illegal dumping at Quarryvale Park, which is a serious blot on Shancastle and Greenfort estates, and asks the Manager to implement special measures to prevent littering and dumping, including enhanced patrolling of the area, the pursuit of offenders and regular clean ups until the extent of the problem is reduced.

“That this commitee reccomends a freeze on all applications for fire road licences in the dublin mountain area under the control of this county pending a review of operation of this by the environment, planning and forrestry services to prevent the abuse of this by scurrillous developers who are using this facility for waste disposal.”
