QUESTION: Councillor K. Warren

“To ask the Manager to give an expected date for the opening of the Hunter’s Road/ Oldcourt Road, as this road was promised to be opened in the latter part of 2006, and those living in the Hunterswood, Ballycullen area have requested that this road be opened as soon as possible to provide some relief from the existing congestion that residents face on a daily basis in this area, and if he will make a statement on the matter?”

REPLY:

The Ballycullen Link Road (Oldcourt Road to Stocking Lane) was constructed by Oldcourt Developments Ltd. under Planning SD02A/0426.The road is now complete and has been inspected to ensure that it is constructed to Taking in Charge standards.However the Taking in charge process will take 3-4 months.

The road will not become a public road until the T.I.C. process is complete.The developer can now open the road but may not wish to do so until it becomes a public road.
