That this Committee calls on the Manager responsible to initiate the process for the establishment of a trading pitch/site at the entrance to Palmerstown Cemetery. Traditionally, and when the entrance was directly from Kennelsfort Road, there was a licenced trader selling flowers and who has had to endure a lot of hardship due to the fact that his pitch/site was not moved when the entrance was relocated to its present location.

That the Lucan-Clondalkin Area Committee is concerned with the apparent upsurge in incidents where bin tags are stolen from bins in estates in Lucan, and requests the Manager to raise the matter with An Garda Siochana in Lucan and Ronanstown with a view to detection and charging of the culprits, and further requests the Manager to review the policy of the Council in dealing with residents whose tags are stolen but who require to have their bins collected urgently.

That the Manager would present a detailed report for discussion on all progress made and work completed on Graffiti removal in Lucan, Clondalkin and Palmerstown, since the Graffiti Removal Crew was established. Specifically what works have been completed, and what works remain outstanding since the upsurge of Graffiti desecration in our community during the Christmas and New Year period, and what assistance has the Manager provided to Residents and Residents Associations where Graffiti damages has been caused to privately owned walls and lands.

That this Committee is concerned with the persistent problem of littering, illegal dumping and graffiti along Ballyowen Lane, Lucan, and requests the Manager to provide a report on measures being taken by the Council to combat such anti-social behaviour, including actions to re-design and refurbish the area around the bollards at the junction of Ballyowen Lane and the Ballyowen Shopping Centre.

That the Lucan-Clondalkin Area Committee calls on the Manager to take the necessary steps to ensure that a start is made in 2007 on the provision of library facilities, including a conventional modern Regional Library and e-Learning Hubs, to serve the residents of Palmerstown and the north Clondalkin area and to have regard to the long held expectations of residents in these areas in regard to the provision of library services.

That this Committee, in acknowledgment of the great interest in the care of horses and the lack of stable facilities in the area, supports in principle the provision of stable facilities for horses in the North Clondalkin and Bawnogue areas. Following local consultation, it is envisaged that 115 stables, 100 for rental purposes and 15 for the Centre itself, would be of adequate service to the area. That the Manager would agree to engage in discussion on this matter and conduct a feasibility study, the results of which would be brought for future discussion at a later Area Committee Meeting.

That the Manager would bring forward for discussion a details report and draft design for the new facility in Griffeen Valley Regional Park Lucan, incorporating a Swimming Pool.  Would the Manager also signal the extent of the consultation process envisaged prior to this development taking place, to ensure that the development of this facility includes all that will be of benefit to the local community in Lucan.

To ask the Manager when the stone wall at Ballyowen Lane surrounding Ballyowen Park will be completed? Two small sections of this wall were built almost eighteen months ago. Materials (stones) have remained on site since then in order to finish the remainder of wall. Stones at this site have been removed by members of the public on a regular basis.

That the Manager would agree to examine the feasibility of providing a toilet facility to assist Lucan Sarsfields GAA at Willsbrook Park, Lucan.  Owing to the outstanding development and successes to date of Lucan Sarsfield GAA Camogie Teams who are based in Willsbrook Park, it is estimated that there is currently in excess of one thousand girls competing and training, parents, visiting teams and supporters attending Willsbrook Park each week where there is currently no toilet facility.

That the Lucan-Clondalkin Area Committee recommends that the Manager take a flexible approach to implementing the 5 Year Playground Construction Programme in the Lucan Electoral Area, that he takes into account that there is no playground in Palmerstown or in the part of Lucan east of the Outer Ring Road, and consider the option of providing neighbourhood playgrounds at Hermitage Park, Ballyowen Park and Waterstown Park, with a possibility reduction in size and construction costs of the proposed Griffeen Valley Park playground near the 12th Lock.
