MOTION No. 12

MOTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"That the Council builds on its recent successes in Rathfarnham with Pay Parking and replacement of the footpaths, that new litter bins be provided at regular intervals in the village as there are none since the footpath replacement work was carried out."

REPORT:

A review of cleansing services is expected to be completed in the next two months or thereabouts.  No additional litter bins are being installed pending the completion of the review which, inter alia, will establish what additional capacity exists for servicing of new litter bins. 

When the cleansing review is completed all requests for additional litter bins throughout the County will be examined and a priority list will be drawn up of the areas where additional bins would contribute to the general level of cleanliness which is desirable. Rathfarnham village will be included in the list.
