That South Dublin County Council calls on the Minister for Education to provide sufficent resources to the National Braille Production Centre to ensure the timely availablilty of schoolbooks in braille.
To ask the Manager to write to the ESB to request details of the ESB's scheduled programme of works, short, medium and long term, for the removal of overhead electricity cabling in our villages, housing estates and open spaces, and for relevant details of the ESB's policy on overhead electricity cabling?
To ask the Manager to report in detail on the results of the footpath survey for South Dublin as undertaken in the first half of 2007?
To ask the Manager to report on the progress of the current Traffic Calming Programme for South Dublin. Would the Manager specifically report on the delays in agreeing the remaining schedules in each area in South Dublin. Would the Manager also report on what research has taken/is taking place to source possible alternatives to the traditional ramp as being the main feature of traffic calming schemes?
"To ask the Manager for an update on the time-frame for the replacement of the mature trees along the M50 adjacent to Kingswood & Kilnamanagh (following the M50 roadworks), the type of trees to be planted, the maturity of the trees and will the Manager note that the removal of the trees, has created a noise pollution problem for many residents living adjacent to the M50?"
To ask the Manager to report on ways in which the Special Amenity Area Order applicable to the Liffey Valley, can be extended?
To ask the Manager, what efforts have been or are being made to ensure the thousands of people who lost their franchise in the general election 2007 as a result of the review of the electoral register are returned back on the register and how does the Manager explain the disproportionate large numbers deleted from the register in the RAPID areas of the County where arguably there is a greater need for proper representation?
That this Committee agrees it would be of great benefit to the local Community to have a future Lucan Festival as was previously and successfully organised. Would the Manager agree to put in place a consultation process with the intention of involving Community and business representatives, residents associations, individual residents etc., to pursue the objective of a "Lucan Community Festival 2008".
