QUESTION NO. 2
QUESTION: Councillor D. Keating
To ask the Manager to report in detail on the results of the footpath survey for South Dublin as undertaken in the first half of 2007?
REPLY:
Provision was made in the 2007 Budget to undertake a survey of all footpaths in the County. The countywide footpath survey is almost complete. The survey by it's nature was time consuming and required a major staff input. The results of the survey are being analysed at present on the basis of the agreed gradings protocol from 1 to 5 ( 1 -being satisfactory to 5 -requiring attention as soon as resources are available). This analysis will enable the preparation and presentation of a Priority Maintenance Programme. It is hoped to complete the programme by the end of the week commencing 12th November 2007 and the details will be presented to Area Committees in November and December 2007.
