Correspondence (No Business)
That the Area Committee calls on the Council following the recent development within Templeogue Village to put a small slow down sign on the Cycle Lane through Templeogue Village, in the interest of children and all pedestrians safety.
That this area committee calls on the Council to make the walkway on Springfield Road between the bollards narrower and to plant small trees and shrubs at either side of a pathway, in the interest of health and safety.
To please ask the Chief Executive to examine the public footpath outside (address provided) and to ensure repairs take place as soon as possible?
To ask the Chief Executive to ensure a public street light outside 45 The Avenue, Boden Park Rathfarnham is repaired, if this requires the assistance of ESB Networks and if a timeline is available?
Can the Manager provide an report on the schedule of street cleaning for Rathfarnham Village and the outcome of the investigation into commercial bins being left out on the street?
That this Council inspects the ornamental pond / fountain area in Rathfarnham Castle Park which looks run down, and carries out appropriate works to bring it back to its previous condition.
That the Council examines and takes water samples from the pond at Rathfarnham Castle Park, as there are concerns that there may be a blockage which could adversely affect the water quality in the pond with a resulting knock-on effect on the wildlife in and around the pond.
That this Council carries out an urgent tree safety audit at Rathfarnham Wood and carries out any necessary works arising as a result. There are concerns that many of the trees have shallow roots and may not be safe in storms and high winds. See attached photos of a tree which came down recently.
That the Council completes the necessary and outstanding repairs to the footpath at Dangan Avenue, off Kimmage Road West, which were commenced last year but left unfinished.
That this Council furnishes more information in relation to the proposed development of Rathfarnham Castle Stables and outbuildings, and, specifically, why the north courtyards are being developed rather than, instead, continuing the recent development works on the south courtyard, using the north courtyards for car parking and preserving the relatively recently created and much valued Sean Keating garden.
To report on maintenance of those cycle lanes which include bollards within the LEA in terms of removing tree matter during autumn.
That the white line is repainted and stop sign replaced at the junction of Carrigwood / Woodlawn Park Grove and Ballycullen Drive.
That Management provide an update on crossing(s) on Oldcourt Road to serve Firhouse ETSS and any plans for improvements of the existing infrastructure for pedestrians / cyclists.
To ask the Chief Executive how many estates are waiting to be taken in charge and how many have been completed in the last 12 months.
To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the dog park for Rathcoole Park?
To ask the Chief Executive if there is a mechanism whereby a request could be made in formal discussions with the Minister for Housing and county managerial colleagues to allow SDCC applicants to transfer to a house in a rural county and keep their place on our list for two years, providing confidence that if the move does not work out, they still retain their current points allocation; and if a statement could be made on the matter?
To ask the Chief Executive has the situation changed yet or will it change shortly whereby points accrued in other Dublin local authorities can be added to time on list in South Dublin (and vice-versa), given that there are people living here in DCC HAP accommodation, for example, who would wish to remain in the community where their kids are attending school and are close to being offered a property in another Council, but would be way down on the South Dublin list; and if a statement can be made on the matter.
