MOTION NO.16

MOTION: Councillor A. Edge

That Management provide an update on crossing(s) on Oldcourt Road to serve Firhouse ETSS and any plans for improvements of the existing infrastructure for pedestrians / cyclists.

REPORT:

The civil construction works is complete.  The light poles of the crossing will be installed this week.  Thereafter, an electrical completion certificate will be sent to the ESB.

It is the responsibility of ESB to energise the lights on the pedestrian crossing.  There is a significant waiting time for the completion of new ESB connections.

SDDC will press the ESB to make the electrical connection at the earliest possible point in time.

The proposed pedestrian crossing joins to existing footpaths and cycle lanes.  There are no improvement proposals in the Cycle South Dublin Programme in this immediate area.

However, should specific issues be raised SDCC will look at these carefully.
