MOTION: Councillor Y. Collins

That this Council carries out an urgent tree safety audit at Rathfarnham Wood and carries out any necessary works arising as a result. There are concerns that many of the trees have shallow roots and may not be safe in storms and high winds. See attached photos of a tree which came down recently.

REPORT:

A number of individual trees in Rathfarnham Wood estate are scheduled for maintenance works in the coming months. In addition to this the Council has listed the trees in Rathfarnham Wood to be surveyed, following on from the surveys any maintenance work which is considered to be necessary will be scheduled accordingly.
