QUESTION NO.2
QUESTION: Councillor M. Lynch
Can the Manager provide an report on the schedule of street cleaning for Rathfarnham Village and the outcome of the investigation into commercial bins being left out on the street?
REPLY:
Rathfarnham village has a dedicated staff member who is assigned to village cleaning on a full-time basis, this operation is carried out Monday to Friday and on Sundays and bank holidays. Litter bins in the village are serviced as required, the village has a number of solar powered, smart compactor bins which notify public realm supervisors as to when the bin needs to be serviced. The servicing of litter bins is also carried out Monday to Friday as well as on Sundays and bank holidays.
The Councils Waste Enforcement section have been liaising with the various commercial waste collectors who service Rathfarnham Village. The Council have reminded them of the conditions attached to their collection permits and of the Council's waste bye laws in relation to household and commercial waste, in particular in relation to presentation of waste for collection. The Council has carried out 3 inspections in the village recently in relation to presentation of waste and noted no non-compliances on those inspections.
