MOTION: Councillor Y. Collins

That this Council inspects the ornamental pond / fountain area in Rathfarnham Castle Park which looks run down and carries out appropriate works to bring it back to its previous condition.

REPORT:

The pump which transfers water from the ornamental pond to the water feature and rill in Rathfarnham Castle Park has recently malfunctioned. The Council is actively working to address this issue by appointing a contractor to install a new pump and carry out whatever other repairs are necessary.  Details of the extent of the repairs that are required are awaited from the contractor, however once these have been received it is expected that the pumped system can be brought back into operation quickly.
