This Council again calls on the Minister for the Environment to meet with Officials and Elected Representatives of South Dublin Co. Council to discuss the possibility of extending the provisions of the Housing (Miscellaneous) Act 1997 to private rented accommodation (these provisions relate to dealing with anti-social tenants) and express its displeasure at the failure of the Minister to meet with us so far since the request first went in in late 2007.

That this Committee calls on the Minister for Justice to ensure adequate funding is made available in 2010 for new and replacement vehicles for an Garda Síochána. Failure do so may seriously impinge on the capacity of local Gardaí to continue to provide their high-quality policing services across the Lucan and Clondalkin electoral areas, in particular noting the significant mileage run-up by many of the vehicles currently in use by our local Gardaí.

To ask the Manager to report on the works carried out by the Road's Department to date this Autumn/Winter in the clearing of gullies and drains on an area by area basis in estates, on main roads, and in villages etc., and where are works scheduled to take place for the remaining weeks in 2009? The residents and trading communities appreciate all ongoing efforts being made to clear gullies and drains, including fallen leaves in the interest of avoiding flooding and reducing great inconvenience?

Report on Part 8 of the Planning & Development Act 2000 – 2008 and the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 – 2008:

To construct a new bridge on the Grand Canal at Lynches Lane, all on lands in the townland of Grange. The works will form part of a proposed pedestrian and cycle route between the Grand Canal, Adamstown and Griffeen Avenue.
