QUESTION NO. 3
QUESTION: Councillor E. Coburn
"To ask the Manager to review the fencing barrier in place beside the covered Walk Way across the M50 at the St Colmcille Way. There is a 2 foot gap between the Road and the covered walk way, it appears meager considering the drop goes straight down in to the M50 road and has the potential to be a safety hazard for both pedestrians & motorist?"
REPLY:
The area around the enclosed pedestrian bridge at the Scholarstown Interchange has been inspected and safety audited. Prior to opening additional pedestrian barriers are to be provided to direct pedestrians towards the bridge. The parapet safety barriers are provided in accordance with the design for this type of road bridge.
