"That the Manager contact the owner of the land bordering 216/217 Woodfield Estate to request proper/permanent fencing which would resolve the problem of illegal tipping in the field causing danger to livestock present, attracting rodents and general unsightliness to neighbouring residents and could the Manager:
- At the Woodfield estate side place a litter probation sign near the field.
- Ask the litter warden to police the area to stop littering in the field."
To ask the Manager to indicate if there are any plans in place to erect flags on the public lighting poles, on the N81, from Templeogue Village to Kingswood Village, to celebrate The Gathering, as happened for the Tour de France stage, when it passed through the County Town in 1998?
"That the Manager arrange that the concrete road surface adjacent to the shops, church and community centre at Ballyroan be reinstated, repaired and/or replaced where necessary - and repairs carried out to the low perimeter 'lip' around the car park as cars are driving directly out on to Marian Road."
To ask the Manager for an update on septic tank inspections in the County?
That this Committee being very concerned at the inadequate learning facilities at St Thomas' and Scoil Aine Naofa Schools, and both the Senior and Junior Archbishop Ryan Schools, Lucan, which is due to overcrowding and unsatisfactory classrooms, which by now are bordering on the unsafe, request that the Manager write to the Minister for Education and Skills asking him to have the situation in these schools reassessed and to have the long promised building programme fort these schools started as a matter of urgency.
To ask the Manager to provide this Council with a comprehensive report on the current position with regard to the proposed Poolbeg incinerator, and including details of costs incurred to date by SDCC on this project?
To ask the Manager if any bonds provided by developers for projects in the County have been lost under the liquidation of IBRC; to give details of the projects and the status of the bonds; to state if in any cases the bonds are necessary for completion of developments; and to make a statement on the matter?
To ask the Manager for an update on the status of the HAGS, MAGS and HOPS schemes for 2013; if any contact has been made with the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government in light of concerns expressed by this Council regarding funding for the projects for 2013, and if any changes may be made to the allocation; to state how many applications have been granted and how many are in progress at present; and to state, in light of previous experience, if the Council will be able to meet the demand expected for the remainder of 2013?
To ask the Manager to provide an update on the plans to roll out Wi-fi in Council community, recreation and parks facilities, as mandated in previous motions, and to make a statement on the matter?
To ask the Manager for an updated schedule for the introduction of Irish Water and associated projects, and to make a statement on the matter?
To ask the Manager if she will present a report on applications received for funding for projects, events and initiatives from the allocation in the Council's 2013 Budget under the heading of Public Realm actions?
To ask the Manager for a progress report on work being done by the Working Group of the Planning and Development SPC, and local groups, on promoting and enhancing the sustainability of the Traditional Villages in the County, including Rathfarnham, Lucan, Templeogue, Rathcoole and Clondalkin?
To ask the Manager if a Report can be presented to the May Council meeting giving figures for the numbers of persons on the Live Register with addresses in South Dublin County, for the 5 Electoral Areas Lucan, Clondalkin, Tallaght South, and Tallaght Central, and Rathfarnham, and suggesting that these figures can be obtained from the Tallaght, Clondalkin and Ballyfermot Social Welfare Offices, and presented in the format that they had been presented to the CDB in the recent past, ie., figures for the numbers of persons of all ages, and additionally figures for persons under 25 years?
To ask the Manager if the Council will request the Department of Social Protection to advise if financial support might be available form the European Council Youth Guarantee Programme for Council run Social Employment Schemes run for young people under 25 years of age?
That this elected body and South Dublin County Council urgently review its Control of Horses Act 1996 and its Bye-Laws in relation to the recent High Court judgement regarding the impounding of horses in the county. It calls on the Department of Agriculture to investigate South Dublin County Council's policy of the implementation of the Control of Horses Act and its Bye Laws over the last two years.
That this Council supports stronger measures in combating the scourge of littering and illegal dumping, including increased penalties and expanded community service requirements for offenders supported either by statute or legislation; and that this Council calls on the Minister for Environment, Heritage and Local Government to support this local authority and others in the battle against litter and dumping by liaising with the Data Protection Commissioner and, if necessary, seeking amendments to the Data Protection Act to allow for the naming and shaming of those engaged in such practices.
That this Council notes that EU based evidence shows that the majority of new jobs are created by SMEs in the first 6 years or so of their existence, acknowledges the commitment of the Manager and her staff to supporting and promoting economic development and job creation/protection, recommends to the Manager, that the Council, in co-operation with the CEB, the CDB, South Dublin Chamber of Commerce, ITT Dublin and Enterprise Ireland, organize, in the next 6 months a Seminar/Conference for SMEs, and start-up businesses which will have as a main objective the provision of information on all aspects of supporting and growing small businesses, including financial supports by banks, government and the EU, R& D, employee training and development and training, and marketing.
That the Manager provide an update on the proactive initiatives being undertaken by the Council as a response to the Age Friendly County Strategy, with particular emphasis on community outreach and involvement.
To ask the Manager to present a report on the current operations and work programme of South Dublin Tourism?
To ask the Manager for a report on the operation of the Council's private residential inspections unit; including details of the number of inspections carried out this year?
