Development
Questions
To ask the Manager, following correspondence received from the Development Department confirming, that an inspection of Castle Tymon Shopping Centre Car Park would take place, would the Development Department outline the result of that inspection and what action it proposes to take on the issue?
To ask the Manager to confirm who is the legal owner of the piece of land between the fenced grounds of Tallaght Community School and St. Joseph's School (opposite St. Aengus Community Centre)?
To ask the Manager what action South Dublin County Council intend taking to improve the general appearance at the boundary fence onto Killakee View in Firhouse, and given the fact that the County Dublin VEC have now confirmed that this area of land is not in their ownership or control, if South Dublin County Council will now resolve this issue by taking responsibility for the land in question, improving the appearance and amenity, and thereby reducing the risk of dumping, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

That the Manager gives a full report of progress to date in relation to the upgrading or requirement to cleanse and maintain neighbourhood shops within the Tallaght area - noting that this matter was raised in November 2007 and it would appear that nothing has been done to address this matter.
That this Committee requests the Housing Dept., to instruct Respond Housing Association to demolish the derelict building at their site on Cookstown Way, Tallaght, in the interest of public safety.
That this Committee calls for the Council Management to make contact with the owner of the lands between Deerpark and Killinarden Heights to ensure that they secure their lands from joyriders and they also clean-up their lands as this site is an eyesore for residents of Deerpark Square and a magnet for anti-social behaviour, that if the land-owner does not respond in a postive way to this contact action should be taken under the derilict sites act to resolve the matter.
That this Committee urges the Community Dept., to request the Law Dept., to address the outstanding matters in relation to the development by Kilnamanagh A.F.C. and indicate when the Deed of Charge and the Building Licence and Management Licence will be confirmed.

Questions
To ask the Manager to report on progress with respect to the provision of an addtional Lollipop Lady in the vicinity of St Thomas' School in Jobstown?
To ask the manager if the Spring 2008 review of the Allenton traffic calming scheme has taken place and to outline the results?
To ask the Manager if there are any plans to erect signage at the LUAS stations indicating key local Estates, venues etc?
To ask the Manager for a detailed update on proposals for the provision of a cycle lane on OldBawn Road, the sourcing of funding for such a provision and a time-frame for the construction of such a cycle lane?
To ask the Manager if a barrier/ fence can be erected at the location of that part of Allenton Avenue in Ballycragh, as it adjoins the Oldcourt Road, as residents have now reported that increasingly, since the introduction of specific traffic calming measures, and a new road layout in Ballycragh, that motorists are now accessing Olcourt Road by simply driving over Allenton Avenue, and the small parcel of open space this location, if a Manager can now investigate the issue in detail, and propose a solution to this problem, and if he will make a statement on the matter?”
To ask the Manager if he would consider the establishment of a yellow box at the entrance to Verschoyle Estate on Citywest Road, as a means of helping residents who live in Verschoyle to access this busy road, particularly at peak times, and if he will make a statement on the matter.
To ask the Manager what progress, if any, has been made to alleviate the problem of vandalism to St. Dominics School due to the erection of the new bridge, the result of talks that were held with the school and will he make a statement on the matter?

That this Committee calls on the Manager to investigate the possible provision of a pedestrian crossing on the Fettercairn Road in the general vicinty of the Fettercairn Community Centre taking in to consideration the large numbers of young children who cross this section of busy Road daily to attend various activities at the centre.
This Committee calls for the inclusion of a bus turning bay in the vicinity of the Ferncourt/Ely area.
This Committee calls on the manager to address the problem of excessive parked cars (to facilitate car trading) on the Old Court Road in the vicinity of the back entrance to Holy Rosary National School

Letter dated 14th May 2008 sent to Tallaght Gardai regarding a motion that was passed at the Tallaght Area Committee Meeting of 28th April, 2008, in relation to the enforcement of of the issue of cars driving on the green spaces at Allenton Crescent and Allenton Road.

That this Committee calls on the Minister for Health to take immediate action to address any deficits that may exist in relation to Social/Child Protecion services in the Tallaght area in order to ensure that no "at risk" children in Tallaght become part of the growing statistic of children in need of support slipping through the net.
That this Committe calls on Bus Atha Cliath to provide bus shelters at all bus stops, unless there are exceptional circumstances eg lack of space.
That this Committee calls on the Minister for Education to meet with the members to discuss the neglect of the Holy Rosary National School with regard to the School's Building Programme. Further, this Committee demands that the school is treated with the highest priority.

That the Manager reports on the current status of the proposed redevelopment of the Saggart Arms public house, noting that there have been several complaints from local people in relation to the placing of hoarding around the site in recent weeks.
