QUESTION: Councillor J. Neville

To ask the Manager for a detailed update on proposals for the provision of a cycle lane on Old Bawn Road, the sourcing of funding for such a provision and a time-frame for the construction of such a cycle lane?

REPLY:

The Quality Bus Corridor on the Old Bawn Road is at present in the preliminary design stage and is proposed to be a combined bus lane and cycle facility.

It is hoped that the Part 8 planning stage will be completed before Christmas and that construction works will start in Autumn 2009.

The Cycle facility will be funded as part of the Quality Bus Corridor Scheme.
