This Council agrees that the County Council should include a policy to provide Independent living for the elderly areas that have the oldest populations in South County Dublin and in doing so to satisfy the growing demand for downsizing from existing residences to more suitable accommodation for their needs with access to local amenities. This will have the added benefit of releasing housing stock used by single or small families to larger families and assisting with the homeless situation in the area.
