That this Committee notes that proposals have been put to the Manager for variations of the County Development Plan which would lead to rezoning of over 500 acres of land in Newcastle and Lucan, and that the  proposals both refer to "Affordable Housing" and if he will make a statement on the matter?

That this Committee supports the concerns of residents of Tullyhall Estate, Lucan about health and safety risks, particularly for the large number of young children on the estate, arising from the volume of heavy construction traffic going through the estate to the Hoillioake/Eleveden Properties construction site, and requests the Manager to have an investigation carried out by the Building Control section to seek an alternative route into the site, possibly from Griffeen Avenue or the Adamstown Relief  Road, and requests that he make a statement on the matter.

That this Committee notes the Report of the Manager on Motion No. 13 at the meeting of 16 January 2007, and particularly his statement that "The option proferred by the Lucan Planning Council is not feasible. A further assessment is required to advance an alternative river Liffey crossing in the Lucan/Leixlip area to relieve congestion." and requests the Manager to have a survey carried out of traffic across the Liffey Bridge in Lucan, using technology which will record the registration numbers of vehicles so that a profile of the home addresses of vehicle owners using the bridge can be obtained.
