Motion

Submitted by:
Councillor T. McDermott
Responsibility:

"This committee calls upon the Manager, in the interests of health and safety, to immediately construct two pedestrian / cycle crossings on the R112 between Rathfarnham Shopping Centre and Rathfarnham Bridge to facilitate safe and comfortable access to the amenities of the Dodder Linear Park and Bushy Park for the families and the elderly of the localities of Butterfield, Fairways and Rathfarnham. The opening of the only skate-board park in Dublin City and upgrading of other facilities by SDCCand DCC have increased the popularity of the amenities on the North side of the R112 for young and old alike. The increasing and incessant volume of traffic means that visitors from these areas have to take unreasonable risks because there are no pedestrian crossings on that long stretch of the R112."
