MOTION NO. 5

MOTION: Councillor C. Keane

"That this Committee recommends that a piece of Art be installed on the newly constructed ‘Green Route’ either at the roundabout on Taylors Lane or at the junction of Whitechurch Road/Taylors Lane –Green Route or at a location agreed by the local residents associations."

REPORT:

Since the establishment of the County the issuing of commissions under the Percent for Art Scheme has been administered under the "In Context" Arts Programme. The current In Context programme, which is the third, has been very successful in broadening the scope of the scheme and is managed through the Council's Arts Office. Any recommendation of the Area Committee will be forwarded to the Arts Officer for consideration with others for any future commissions.
