That the Manager would present an up-to-date and detailed report for discussion on the New Leisure Centre and Swimming Pool for Lucan. Would he specifically outline the planning and consultation process associated with this project and assure this Committee and the Lucan Community of the Council's commitment to provide this new facility despite restrictions on government spending, including delays in funding grants by the Department of Arts, Sports & Tourism, as previously outlined in response to my ongoing representations for a New Sports and Leisure Facility, including a Swimming Pool for Lucan, and reiterate that the Council remains committed to allocating the required capital funding to deliver the New Sports and Leisure Facility, including a Swimming Pool in Lucan.

That this Committee supports the initiative, whereby supermarkets would assist by providing Plastic Collection Points for the return of all plastic materials in which they sell their goods. Such an initiative would be of great benefit to the local community and, an ideal Pilot Project which would be welcomed in the Lucan area.

That this Committee calls on the Manager responsible to proceed with the long promised Palmerstown Village renewal as this has been with planning for almost two years and the previous job done a number of years ago has resulted in the footpaths being in a very dangerous state and the traffic associated with the M50 works has caused further deterioration of the road surface. This Village that has such potential is becoming an eyesore due to neglect.
This Committee calls for the inclusion of a bus turning bay in the vicinity of the Ferncourt/Ely area.
This Committee calls on the manager to address the problem of excessive parked cars (to facilitate car trading) on the Old Court Road in the vicinity of the back entrance to Holy Rosary National School
That the Manager would bring forward a detailed proposal to set up a Griffeen Valley Park Users Group, consisting of voluntary representatives of Residents Associations of estates adjacent to the Park, representatives of clubs and other organisations using the Park, and Council Park Rangers.
To ask the Manager if the Recycling Service offered by the Council can be expanded to allow the placing of additional plastics in Green bins, to match the service currently provided by City Bin Co. whereby they allow Plastic Bottles, Clean Wrappings and Clear Bags to be placed in their Green bins?
To ask the Manager what measures are in place to enforce the “dogs on a leash” policy in Griffeen Valley Park given the increasing number of dogs roaming unleashed in that park, and what penalties apply to owners who fail to leash their dogs, and if he will ensure the strict enforcement of that policy?
To ask the Manager whose responsibility is it to mow the overgrown grass verges on the approach road to Tullyhall and Rossberry Estates, Lucan? And, if the responsibility lies with the Developer, can the Manager request the Developer to undertake this work as soon as possible?

That the Manager gives a full report of progress to date in relation to the upgrading or requirement to cleanse and maintain neighbourhood shops within the Tallaght area - noting that this matter was raised in November 2007 and it would appear that nothing has been done to address this matter.

That the Manager outlines the current status of the Local Area Plan for Saggart as agreed in the Development Plan in 2004.

That the Manager indicates the advantages to areas that are provided with paid Estate Management workers in Tallaght over estates that don't have paid workers in such positions does he acknowledge that there is an inequality in service provision in this area and if so how does he intend to address this inequality.

To ask the Manager for a report on the deployment and use of CCTV cameras to monitor council property and that the report would identify their number, location, purpose and operational management?
To ask the Manager what zoning applies to the green space adjacent to 56 St. Patrick's Park, opposite 70 and 72 St. Patrick's Road, in view of the refusal of planning permission which stated the site was zoned open space/amenity?
That a site meeting be arranged at the wall between St. Patrick's Road and Oakwood Estate to review any possible methods of dealing with anti social activities, drinking and abuse of elderly residents.
