That the Manager would present a detailed and up-to-date report following my earlier requests, including the feasibility for a Horse Project in the Clondalkin area. Since my most recent representations, there is now increased ownership of horses in the Quarryvale and North Clondalkin areas and local residents, including many young people, have no safe and appropriate facilities where these horses can be kept and cared for.
This Committee calls for the erection of signs at the entrances to Ballycragh estate warning cars to slow down in consideration of children at play.

That the Council conducts a plebiscite, or take other steps, to eliminate the confusion about the signposting of PALMERSTOWN as the name PALMERSTON is not acceptable to the people of this area and that this confusion be officially cleared up by January 2009.

That this committee, noting the patience and forbearance generously given in, the name of the common good of the residents of Hollyville, The Coppice, Glenpark, Heather Grove and Palmers Manor during the construction phase of the M50 upgrade at and around the N4 Palmerstown Intersection, note their ongoing serious concerns about the boundary treatment and unfinished remedial work, calls on the Manager responsible to address these concerns and mindful of the fact that this was/is a design and build project that he consult with the residents who have had their natural boundary demolished with consequent loss of security and/or who due to the raised contours of the road now suffer severe loss of privacy and/or who due to the design of the barriers are now exposed to vandalism and anti-social behavior and/or who have had their property dominated by huge gantry’s without any prior notice and/or whose open space and landscape has been left in a most unfinished manner, despite promises to the contrary including that it would be restored to full community use by June 2007 and which as of now is not fully restored, and that the Committee empathises with the residents concerned and acknowledges their contribution to progress and the common good while agreeing that there is a point beyond which they should not be expected to suffer.

To ask the Manager if he will arrange for an evaluation of the operation and settings of the MOVA system controlling traffic signals in the vicinity of the N4/ORR junction at Woodies, the ORR/Ballyowen and St Loman's Road junction, and if the evaluation can address particularly the back-up of traffic along St. Loman's Road/Ballyowen Road which has worsened in recent weeks and now often reaches back to the roundabout on the Fonthill Road?
To ask the Manager if temporary measures to mitigate noise and preserve privacy can be implemented during the N4 improvements at the boundary of the N4 with Hillcrest Estate, backing on to Hillcrest Drive, as the removal of trees etc. and other work associate with the N4 contract is causing problems for residents, and if the Manager will make a report on when appropriate temporary measures could be implemented?
That this Committee requests the Manager to write to the ESB seeking a meeting with ESB Officials to discuss proposals for the removal of overhead power lines and their placing underground.
