That this Council acknowledges the benefit of Visual Design Statements as being valuable in collating the views of the local community in terms of the future planning aspirations of the village or area involved, and would the Manager report on how such a Visual Design Statement will influence future planning decisions in that village or area.
That this Council re-affirms its commitment to promoting safe cycling in the County, compliments the Manager and the Roads Department on the ongoing programme of installing cycling lanes, recognises that a deterrent to the use of bicycles is the unavailability of secure storage/parking in public places such as shopping centres, and requests the Manager to explore the possibility of requiring Planning Applications for Shopping Centres to include provision for a certain number of secure cycle parking areas including bicycle lockers and locked covered bicycle sheds.
That an EIS be conducted prior to and so as to inform the final design of the Green Pedestrian and Cycle Way along the Grand Canal.
That the Manager would present a detailed report for discussion on the consequences of Halloween 2007 for South Dublin in terms of issues for the Parks and Landscapes Services Division, the Environmental Department, the Community Department, the Housing Department, including associated costs, and information and data available from the Emergency Services including the Gardaí, Fire Services, Ambulance Services etc.
That this Council will prepare and adopt a policy and guidelines on adaptation measures to combat anticipated effects of climate change in the County, dealing with such matters as water supply, flood plains, open spaces, and that such a Climate Change Adaptation Policy and Guidelines be included in the draft of the next County Development Plan.

To ask the Manager to outline South Dublin County Council's financial contribution for Fire Services in the last financial year,what percentage of the total contribution from the four local Authorities does this comprise, the number of fire stations within the four local authorities & the number of current fire stations within the administrative area of South Dublin County Council?
That this Committee discuss the presentation of a Traffic Management Report for the greater Tallaght Village area.

That the Council provides additional litter bins at identifiable "litter spots" e.g. between the Statoil Station and the Community School in Palmerstown and that the Council launches an anti-litter campaign that can raise public awareness and supports the work of our hard working litter wardens.
That a report is brought to the Committee updating the rollout of brown bins and any further information regarding further refuse disposal.
That information and details regarding all facilities that will be provided at the new Clondalkin swimming pool be given to this Committee.
