MOTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"That the Manager take on board local views regarding the operation of the Pay parking System in Rathfarnham Village."

REPORT:

As part of the county wide parking strategy, pay and display parking was introduced in to Rathfarnham Village in November 2006. During the summer pay and display parking has become operational in the other main Villages in South Dublin.

As intended at the commencement of the strategy, a review has been carried out to afford the public an opportunity to submit their observations on the impact of the scheme. 25 submissions were received, 2 of which refer to Rathfarnham Village.  These submissions are being examined and it is intended to bring a report on the review to the Area Committees in March 2008.
