That the Manager would present a detailed report for discussion on the consequences of Halloween 2007 for South Dublin in terms of issues for the Parks and Landscapes Services Division, the Environmental Department, the Community Department, the Housing Department, including associated costs, and information and data available from the Emergency Services including the Gardaí, Fire Services, Ambulance Services etc.
REPORT:
Information regarding Halloween bonfires is being compiled at present from the various depots and the information requested will be addressed in this exercise. In keeping with the practice of recent years, this information will be analysed and a report will be issued to the Members through the Area Committees.
Prior to Halloween, Parks staff were engaged in collecting extensive amounts of bonfire material from open spaces throughout the County and arrangements are ongoing to collect, clean up and reinstate the areas damaged by illegal bonfires.
Two designated bonfire sites organised by the Council were held in Tallaght and Clondalkin areas.
