That the Manager present a report on the boundaries between Mount Talbot and the Red Cow Interchange upgrade dealing with the following matters:-

a) Where are the boundaries and when and how will they be re-instated?

b) Was land C.P.O.'d from Mount Talbot, how much and could a map be provided?

c) Due to the problem of dust and dirt, would the County Council be willing to wash the apartment windows from time to time?

That this Committee supports the tradition of regulated street trading and calls on the Manager responsible to regularise the situation which a trader finds himself in, through no fault of his own but rather as a consequence of the relocation of the entrance to Palmerstown Cemetery, and designate an appropriate site at the Cemetery where this useful traditional social and enterprising activity can continue.

That the Manager ensure that the Council lives up to its motto of 'This we hold in Trust' by taking steps to protect the remainder of the historic Orchard at Baldonnel, currently in lands owned by the Council near its depot and on its golf course, preferably by allowing the owner of Baldonnel House, who is currently permitted to pick the apples and sell them, to treat and maintain the trees, either by written permission, by leasing the land where most of the trees are located or by coming to such other arrangement that is mutually agreeable, in order that this precious local amenity be preserved for future generations, particularly in the light of rising oil prices, increases in imports and the need to preserve our orchard stock.

That the Manager issues a report on the timescale for the operation of the new public street lights on Newcastle Road from Adamstown Castle up to the 12th Lock Bridge as they have been installed for over ten months and pedestrians are using the footpaths on a daily basis particularly juvenile sport teams using Lucan Sarsfields playing fields.

That this Committee compliments Management on the work to date on Kennelsfort Road from the N4 to Wheatfield junction and requests that the Council writes to the ESB requesting that the Pole outside No 30 (which serves no useful purpose for over 15 years now) be removed and that overhead wires be put underground or failing that that those ESB Poles that are out of line be moved close to the garden walls
