That the Manager would present a detailed report for discussion on the meeting with the deputation from the Lucan South Secondary School Action Group, scheduled to take place recently, following the passing of the Emergency Motion at the September '07 Planning Department Meeting of the Lucan/Clondalkin Area Committee: "That thisCommittee requests the Manager to meet with a Deputation fromt he Lucan South Secondary School Action Group to discuss the requirement of a New Secondary School in the South Lucan Area."
That this Committee supports the concept of a Liffey Valley Park as proposed originally by Lucan Planning Council and in more recent years by Liffey Valley Park Alliance and which is also widely supported by the local Community, including all Local Residents Associations. In addition that this Committee acknowledges the historical significance of the Liffey Valley, and recognises not only the local and regional value of a Liffey Valley Park, but also its national and indeed international future potential. In such circumstances it is wholly undesirable that any future housing developments take place in the Liffey Valley, including at St. Edmundsbury and Woodville, that would undoubtedly further damage the Liffey Valley Park as did, for example, the earlier housing developments at Laraghcon.
That the Area Committee welcomes the amendment put forward in the Manager's Report on the Local Area Plan for Liffey Valley Town Centre in respect of the enhancement of Quarryvale Park, and asks for information on how the work on Quarryvale Park will be financed in the context of the implementation of the LAP developments and if he will be in a position to provide the financial resources required.

That this Committee is disappointed that some of the recent decisions of Dublin Bus have reduced the service available to Lucan residents, is concerned about the level of consultation by Dublin Bus with the Council including elected members, and requests the Manager to write to Dublin Bus seeking a meeting at which the company will be prepared to present its short term plans, with a meaningful level of detail about new routes additional bus numbers, for improving the bus service to all parts of Lucan during the period 2008 to 2010, i.e before the completion of the Kildare Route Project.

That the Manager presents a report on the inadequacy of the footpath outside the new Kelland-built building on Orchard Lane, Clondalkin (opposite Quinlans) and what he intends to do to rectify the situation.
That a report be brought to this meeting regarding boundary and lighting treatment at the entrance to St. Patrick's Estate, Clondalkin.
That this Committee notes the concern of the Principal of St. Kevin's Community College for the safety of his students in crosing the Fonthill Road, as expressed in a letter to the Road Safety Officer, and requests the Manager to investigate possible measures to reduce risks to all pedestrians using this very busy road especially students when they are going to or coming from the school in large numbers, and to ask if a restricted speed zone might be put in place as in the vicinity of the Primary Schools in Lucan.
That the Manager would set out in detail what early steps he has put in place to carry out the agreed review of the boundary walls on the Outer Ring Road in Lucan, with a view to remedying the shortcomings in the completion of the boundary walls as part of the Outer Ring Road, as agreed and as a result of my Motion passed at the November 2007 Road's Department Meeting.
That this Committee directs South Dublin County Council to continue the footpath on Aylmer Road, Newcastle as far as Peamount United Club House.
That this Committee notes that bollards were installed at Liffey Crescent, Liffey Valley Park Estate, Lucan as a condition of the Planning Permission for the development, notes that at present unsightly temporary bollards are in place at the location and requests the Manager to arrange, in consultation with the Residents Association, for the installation of bollards of a suitable aesthetic design.
That the Manager would report in detail on how a short road widening programme, such as the Newcastle Road Quality Bus Corridor, would not have concluded by now, when works commenced during the summer. Also would the Manager agree to take the necessary steps to ensure that adequate safety measures are now put in place to provide safe road crossing facilities for children from local estates, including Westbury Court, who have on many occasions have been left to their own devices when leaving Westbury Court Estate early in the morning and need to cross the busy Newcastle Road under re-construction to get to local schools on the other side of the Newcastle Road.
