Questions
To ask the Manager to contact the relevant Department to seek information on what assistance will be provided to local residents whose rent allowance income is not accepted by landlords? Increasing numbers of local residents are finding it difficult to source rented accommodation where landlords accept rent allowances.
To ask the Manager if he can provide the figures for the number of residents in the Lucan Electoral Area in 1999, 2004 and 2006, and if he can confirm that the Lucan Electoral Area has the second highest number of residents per elected Councillor of all electoral areas in the country ?

That this Committee requests the Manager to write to the relevant authorities on the possible dangers of the mast at Ronanstown Garda Station, in view of the reported cancer illness increase in the vicinity of this mast and the other one at Lett's corner.
That this Committee requests the Manager to write to the ESB to request a meeting with the ESB Senior Official/Officials who is/are responsible for/involved in decision making for the selection of relevant works programmes with a view to having the ESB overhead cables in Lucan Village removed and placed underground.
Roads
Questions
To ask the Manager to re-surface the lane up to the Clondalkin Sport and Leisure Centre from the Old Nangor Road and could he indicate when the work will be done?
To ask the Manager to report on what precise measures of boundary treatment will be included on the N4 was part of the N4 Road Widening Works, in front of the houses on the Old Lucan Road, from the Deadman's Public House in an easterly direction to King's Hospital. Would the Manager ensure that the wall finish is consistent with the finish on the adjoining wall at the N4/M50 intersection in the interest of consistency and to protect the interests of the local residents on the Old Lucan Road?
To ask this Committee to thank the Manager for agreeing to my request to increase the height of the boundary wall at Westbury Court Estate and the Newcastle Road, given the increased variance in the ground levels on either side of this wall since the widening of the Newcastle Road brought about an increase in height of the footpath on the Newcastle Road.
To ask the Manager to report on what new pedestrian facilities will be introduced to facilitate residents to safely access Liffey Valley Town Centre and other nearby commercial outlets, including the Clarion Hotel, the Arc Bar, local Motor Retail outlets etc., from nearby local residential areas including Liffey Valley Park Estate, Mount Andrew Estate etc., and the newly developed St. Edmunds. Recently I was requested by a local resident to undertake this challenge and walk the aforementioned route. This transpired to be one of the most dangerous experiences I encountered in recent times owing to the lack of safe pedestrian facilities at this location. Will the Manager set out in detail what remedies he will now introduce to resolve this problem prior to any serious incident taking place?
To ask the Manager if he will make a report on the implementation of the MOVA system at junctions between the Outer Ring Road, Ballyowen Road and Old Lucan Road/Woodies Bridge over the N4, and if he is confident that the adjustment of the system has now been optimised?
To ask the Manager if he will advise when replacement bollards will be installed at Liffey Crescent, Liffey Valley Park Estate (as required by a Condition of the Planning Permission for the estate) following the removal of the temporary bollards at the location?

That the Manager present a report on the boundaries between Mount Talbot and the Red Cow Interchange upgrade dealing with the following matters:-
a) Where are the boundaries and when and how will they be re-instated?
b) Was land C.P.O.'d from Mount Talbot, how much and could a map be provided?
c) Due to the problem of dust and dirt, would the County Council be willing to wash the apartment windows from time to time?
Following my earlier representations to have a traffic survey carried out in Lucan, including my requests for the introduction of a 3 Weight Ton Restriction in Lucan Village, and the Manager's Report to my most recent Motion that "The Council has appointed a consultant engineer to examine the traffic situation in Lucan Village on foot of the recent survey. The consultant's report is not yet finished. As soon as the report is available a further report will be brought to this Committee.", that the Manager would now present this report for a comprehensive discussion and that he would set out his plans and intentions, including details of the relevant procedures, time-scale etc., for the introduction of a 3 Ton Weight Restriction in Lucan Village.
That the Manager would arrange for an urgent examination of the footpaths in Lucan Village, particularly in the area between the Church of Ireland and Liffey Bridge where there are a number of loose paving slabs constituting a hazard, and arrange for the necessary emergency repairs.

Planning
Questions
To ask the Manager to report in detail on what specific steps and adjustments he is taking / he will take to ensure that there is sufficient seating capacity on trains serving the Adamstown Train Station for the benefit of Adamstown Residents?
To ask the Manager to present a comprehensive and detailed report on the reasons why Larkfield Estate, Lucan remains unfinished after so many years under construction. Would the Manager also set out details as to what meaningful efforts have been made, including dates of correspondence, meetings, replies etc., to resolve this matter which is the cause of serious concern and inconvenience to the existing residents of Larkfield and the wider Community in Lucan, and within what revised time-scale can the local Community expect this matter to be resolved by the proper completion of Larkfield Estate, Lucan.

That the Manager would present a detailed report for discussion on the meeting with the deputation from the Lucan South Secondary School Action Group, scheduled to take place recently, following the passing of the Emergency Motion at the September '07 Planning Department Meeting of the Lucan/Clondalkin Area Committee: "That this Committee requests the Manager to meet with a Deputation from the Lucan South Secondary School Action Group to discuss the requirement of a new Secondary School in the South Lucan Area."
That this Committee notes the Report at the November Area Committee meeting that there remain outstanding works to footpaths, verges, drainage systems outstanding in Rossberry Estate, Lucan and requests the Manager to ask the developer to complete the works as a matter of urgency as the estate has now been completed for some time and if he will make a statement on the matter.
That this Committee supports the concept of a Liffey Valley Park as proposed originally by Lucan Planning Council and in more recent years by Liffey Valley Park Alliance and which is also widely supported by the local Community, including all Local Residents Associations. In addition that this Committee acknowledges the historical significance of the Liffey Valley, and recognises not only the local and regional value of a Liffey Valley Park, but also its national and indeed international future potential. In such circumstances it is wholly undesirable that any future housing developments take place in the Liffey Valley, including at St. Edmundsbury and Woodville, that would undoubtedly further damage the Liffey Valley Park as did, for example, the earlier housing developments at Laraghcon.
That the Lucan/Clondalkin Area Committee requests the Manager to bring forward proposals to finish the boundary walls left unfinished at Foxborough Estate, Lucan and recommends that the Council should be prepared to carry out the necessary work in view of the fact that it failed to enforce the requirements regarding the walls stipulated in the Planning Permission for the estate.
