That the Area Committee welcomes the amendment put forward in the Manager's Report on the Local Area Plan for Liffey Valley Town Centre in respect of the enhancement of Quarryvale Park, and asks for information on how the work on Quarryvale Park will be financed in the context of the implementation of the LAP developments and if he will be in a position to provide the financial resources required.
That the Area Committee acknowledges the work of the Community Services Department on entering into arrangements with County Dublin VEC and Lucan Youth Service to secure the premises in the Griffeen Centre, Lucan to serve as a Youth Cafe and the main base of Lucan Youth Service, but is concernedabout the delays in opening the facility for use, apparently due to lack of finance (in the region of €52 000) to fit out the premises, and asks the Manager to make a statement on the matter, including identifying possible sources of finance, possibly from the HSE or other agency with a remit to provide services for young people.

That the Manager provides a report on land owned by the Council in the Palmerstown area and that the Council actively explore the provision of social and affordable housing at suitable locations in Palmerstown.

That this Committee is very concerned at the increasing levels of anti-social behaviour in our parks and especially in Waterstown Park and Glenaulin Park and requests that CCTV be erected at strategic points in both parks and the approaches to them, as these parks are on the peripheral of the County and have only partial services of Park Rangers. Much of the vandalism and anti-social behaviour takes place late evening, at night and into the early mornings, and that provision be made in the 2008 budget for same.
That this Committee directs South Dublin County Council to continue the footpath on Aylmer Road, Newcastle as far as Peamount United Club House.
