Traveller Accommodation Programme- Belgard Road

Under the South Dublin’s Traveller Accommodation Programme 2005-2008 it is proposed to redevelop the existing halting site at Belgard Road, Tallaght to accommodate 10no. units.

This development is currently at the design stage, however, the current footprint of the site is insufficient to cater for 10 units and either additional land or an alternative site will be required to complete the development.

The adjoining lands are in the ownership of the ITT and the Council have been endeavouring to meet with them to explore the above possibilities. Despite numerous requests it has not been possible to arrange a meeting to date. However discussions are ongoing with a view to arranging a meeting on this matter in early December.

A further report will be presented on the matter to a forthcoming meeting of the Committee
