Ministerial
Letter, dated 06th October 2011, from Minister for Environment's office regarding Flat Rate Water Charge (M4/0911)
"Maidir leis an achainí a bhí seolta chuig an Rannóg Bóithre anuraidh Ó na háitritheoirí ar Lána na Tiníleach maidir le tuilleadh soilsithe ar an mbóthar sin, an bhféadfadh leis an gComhairle an tsoilsíu nua sin a sholáthar i mbliana nó go luath an bhliain seo chugainn?
Having regard to the petition sent to the Roads Department by residents last year regarding extra lighting on Limekiln Lane , would the Council be able to provide this lighting this year or early next year?"
To ask the Manager if he will arrange for an inspection of the time periods allowed for traffic going through the Kennelsfort Road/N4 Junction, in particular if he will assess if sufficient time is allowed for vehicles crossing the N4 to and from Palmerston Village, and if he will also clarify the position regarding vehicles coming along the N4 from the Lucan direction, and doing a U-Turn, because they have missed or been confused by signage at the N4/M50 roundabout?
That, in view of the fact that over 4400 residents of Lucan and Palmerston are on the Live Register, most of whom are seeking employment, this Committee requests the Manager to write to the Department of Social Protection seeking a progress report on the provision of an adequate Social Welfare Office in Lucan, and proposing that a dedicated LES Service be provided to serve the area.
1. An bhféadfadh leis an gComhairle a beartas maidir le leagan crann a léiríú?
2. An nglacfadh leis an gComhairle go bhfuil Áitritheoirí ag fanacht , i gcásanna Áirithe, ar feadh 3 bliana sa bhreis chun crainn atá ró-ard a bhaint?
3. Cén sórt tacaíocht agus comhoibriú atá ar fáil don Chomhairle Contae ó na cuideachtaí fhóntais phoiblí eile, ESB agus Bord Gáis, mar shampla, chun dul i ngleic leis an bhfadhb seo agus an bhfuil comhbheartas ann maidir léi?
1.Would the Council explain its policy regarding tree felling?
2. Would the Council accept that there are residents awaiting over three years for overgrowing trees to be felled?
3. What support and cooperation is available to the Council from public utility companies such as ESB and Bórd Gáis to resolve this problem and is there a joint policy regarding same?
To ask the Manager to provide an update on the pressing need to provide safe pedestrian crossing points on both Fonthill Road and Bothair an Life, close to the St. Loman's Road junction, so as to improve safety for pedestrians seeking to walk between nearby areas of Lucan and Liffey Valley town centre and in particular for residents of St. Edmunds seeking to walk safely to and from the bus-stops on the N4 corridor?
To ask the Manager if there are any enforcement implications in regard to the recent demolition of buildings at the site of Esker House?
To ask the Manager if he will arrange an inspection of the gulley at Chapel Hill, Lucan, outside Conrad’s Café and beside the old water pump, (opposite the entrance to Lucan Boys NS), as complaints about flooding at this location have been received?
To ask the Manager for a detailed update on the proposed Permeability Project in the Griffeen area including my long-standing request for a signalised pedestrian crossing on Griffeen Avenue outside Oldbridge Estate, including an update further to the report given on this specific matter at the September 2011 Traffic Management Meeting?
To ask the Manager, further to the reply to my questions at both the March and April meetings, to provide a detailed update on the work of the Internal Taskforce established to prepare a strategy for the derelict piece of land adjacent to Droim Na Coille Estate, including the possible incorporation into adjoining properties or fencing to prevent ingress; and to further advise on a likely timeframe for planned consultations with adjoining residents?
WINTER GRITTING
To ask the Manager to relocate the dished kerb at the corner of Colthurst Crescent (just north of junction with Colthurst Mews) as previously requested at the May 2011 Traffic Management Meeting. Residents seeking to cross the road via the existing dished kerb are unable to see oncoming traffic coming from the direction of the estate entrance?
To ask the Manager to give an update on proposals to cost the option of bringing power into Griffeen Valley Park for a timer-controlled locking mechanism on the pedestrian gate at Griffeen Glen Park/Elm Green and to add posts/boulders at either side of this gate to dissuade speedy approach to the gate by scrambler bikes, etc?
