MOTION: Councillor E. Higgins

That the Manager outline community initiatives which will be taking place to mark the Christmas festive season in Lucan/Palmerston and to detail arrangements for disposing of Christmas trees.

REPORT:

Community Services Department were involved in organising the Lucan festival which ran from 18th to 25th September this year.  This Festival was also grant-aided by this department to the amount of  €2500.00 and  by €800  from  the Arts Office. There are no further festivities organised by this Department for the Lucan/Palmerston area during the Christmas Festive Season.

From Friday 6th January to Saturday 14th January 2012, the public are invited to bring their Christmas Trees to the locations below and have them recycled.  Please note that these facilities are for domestic household trees only and not for commercial operators.  One tree will be accepted per household.
