This meeting notes that:

• the flooding in nos 15 to 33 Lealand Drive on Monday 24th October 2011 was caused, in part, by the inability of the existing drainage system to cope with the excess rainfall on that night
• the flooding was exacerbated by the location of the houses in a hollow and the raised landscaping at the rear of the houses
• this was the second time such flooding has occurred at these addresses in Lealand Drive, the last flooding occurring in the early 1990's
• more remedial action than the installation of additional gulleys at the fronts of the houses will be required to reduce the risk of flooding in the future

This meeting agrees that the Council:

• will actively explore altering the landscaping at the rear of the affected houses in Lealand Drive to reduce the risk of flooding
• will actively explore the need for expanding the capacity of the existing drainage system to cope with future weather events such as that which took place on 24th October 2011
• will take whatever measures are deemed necessary and as quickly as is possible to reduce the risk of flooding at Lealand Drive.
