MEETING OF CLONDALKIN AREA COMMITTEE

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

MOTION NO. 9

MOTION: Councillor M. McDonagh

This meeting notes that:

This meeting agrees that the Council:

REPORT:

The Drainage Section will explore with the Parks, Housing and Road Sections if the landscaped area at the rear of the houses at 15 to 33 (odd) Lealand Drive , Clondalkin can be altered to divert the rainwater run-off away from these houses bearing in mind that the road levels on both the Nangor and Bawnogue Roads cannot be altered and that sight distance at the junction of these roads is required.

The Surface Water pipework in the Lealand and Alpine Heights areas looks to be more that adequate to cope with normal rainfalls and has been checked and flushed and found to be working smoothly.  No surface water system is designed to take deluges like those which occurred on the 24th of October 2011.

There are plans to increase the number of gullys in the general area of the flooded houses to reduce the risk of flooding in these low lying houses in the future.
