QUESTION NO. 10

QUESTION: Councillor T. Delaney

To ask the Manager if it would be possible to provide spin dryers for swimwear in the pool dressing areas of Clondalkin Leisure Centre?

REPLY:

The leisure centres at Tallaght and Clondalkin have been examining every aspect of their costs and expenditure over the last four years in a concerted effort to maximise efficiencies and to maintain service levels for their customers. They have managed to reduce energy costs and have introduced several other cost-saving practices to ensure the continued viability of the leisure centres in a period when every leisure centre in the country is finding it to be a very difficult business environment. This has been done very successfully and the board of management continues to seek further cost-cutting measures to improve the overall financial position of the centres.

This suggestion to install spin dryers for swimwear will be considered along with other service improvement proposals, but it will be very much dependent on the limited funding available at this time.
