That this Committee notes with serious concern the announcement by the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government of substantial cuts to housing adaptation grants for older people and those who are disabled; that a report be provided on the uptake of these grants by those in this area in 2011 and 2012; that a preliminary report be issued on how these cuts will affect grants in the area under the remit of this committee for 2013; and that a full report on the impact of these proposed cuts be made to the April Council meeting.
That this Committee, while acknowledging the excellent work carried out by the Litter Wardens and Cleansing Crews calls on the manager to arrange for the removal of graffiti from lamp posts, utility boxes and walls in the Perrystown, Whitehall road and Dangan area which have become an eyesore for the community.
That the Manager undertakes a full safety review of all Luas junctions within the Tallaght area with a view to implementing a better notification system for road traffic to warn of trams crossing etc. such as extra ground signage or additional warning lights similar to train level crossing lights.
That this Committee calls on the Manager to provide signage on Kingswood Avenue, either side of the new RPA footpath, warning motorists to drive slowly, in the interest of pedestrian safety.
That this Council endeavours to make available, public use of the car park opposite Firhouse S.C., could the Manager also make a statement on the parks proposed completion.

That this Committee calls on the Manager to ensure that householders or landlords who continually discard old household furniture, mattresses etc, in the front garden or driveway of their properties, are duly warned by the County Litter Wardens regarding the proper disposal of such items and fines issued in the cases where this warning is ignored.

To ask the Manager, a number of community groups have concerns in relation to insurance for those who get involved in community clean ups. What is the situation in relation to this?
To ask the Manager, in relation to a proposed new VEC run primary school at Tór an Rí, Balgaddy could a number of issues be clarified please.
1. Is the proposed new site not far too close to the existing Archbishop Ryan Junior and Senior National schools?
2. Will another large school in this immediate area not exacerbate the existing traffic and parking problems on the Balgaddy Road?
3. Does the council have a long term vison for the Balgaddy area and how does this new school project fit in to that vision?
4. Would it not make more sense to use this site for a second level school for the pupils who have gone through the Archbishop Ryan Schools?
5. What input does the council and councillors have into the selection of sites for schools?
The footpath linking Boot Road with Caldebeck Way and thence to Newlands cross is being seriously encroached upon by the shrubbery there, rendering it almost impassable to some users. To ask the Manager if this can be addressed please?
