MOTION: Councillor M. Corr

That the Manager gives the committee an update with respect to the public realm enhancement surrounding Brookfield Enterprise Centre - indicating ongoing work and estimated completion dates.

REPORT:

The following list of work has been identified as requiring attention at Brookfield Road, also detailed below is the status of each task and the expected completion date.

• Grass cutting of roadside margins.  This was carried out on Thursday June 20th
• Litter picking of paths and margins.  This commenced on Friday June 21st and is due for completion on that date.
• Road sweeping.  In accorrdance with the Oxigen road sweeping schedule this is due to take place on Friday next June 28th
• Weedspraying on paths, under barriers, around sign posts etc.  This is 90 % complete, with part of the area in font of the halting site outstanding.  Unfortunately the maintenance crew were subjected to anti-social behaviour when they were working at this location.  The traveller accomodation section has been asked to assist in facilitating the crew in finishing this work next week. 
• Strimming of long grass at stub wall in front of halting site.  This is due to take place on Monday and Tuesday of next week, June 24th & 25th.
• Removal of graffiti on litter bins.  The litter bins are due to be painted on Monday next June 24th.
• Improvement works to open space at front of halting site.  When completing the routine maintenace work listed above the open space area will be examined to determine what additional works are required.  These additional works will be scheduled to be carried out before the end of July.
