QUESTION NO. 2
QUESTION: Councillor B. Bonner
To ask the Manager what arrangements are in place to ensure that street bins in the Clondalkin electoral area are emptied when the person normally in charge of the bins is sick?
REPLY:
Where a member of staff is absent from work due to illness or annual leave, his duties in relation to the emptying of bins are reassigned to another staff member so that a continuous level of service is provided. The servicing of litter bins, cleaning of town and village centres and work associated with community clean ups are given top priority by the public realm maintenance supervisors. Where a member of staff who normally carries out such work is absent the supervisor in charge replaces that person as a first priority. A monitoring system has now been put in place to ensure that this takes place daily as required.
