The Members of South Dublin County call on the Government and the Minister responsible to enact without delay legislation that gives expression to and recognises The Traveller Community as a distinct Ethnic Group in Ireland and are deserving and accorded the respect that such a status confers and deserves. Once agreed that this decision be communicated to the Minister concerned and this Motion be copied to all other City and County Councils.
That this Council calls on Insurance Ireland to give a definitive answer why Council tenants in Killinarden Estate cannot get proper flood risk Insurance to their homes after the Office of Public Works has completed local flood mitigation works there in 2012. Killinarden is not one of the 300 potential flood risk areas listed by CFRAM and yet is being widely discriminated against by major insurance companies that it is still a flood risk when they apply for home insurance.

"This Committee agrees that, in light of South Dublin County Council's ownership of a unit in the Bawnogue shopping center, the Council makes a financial contribution to the management company in line with the rest of the tenants for the upkeep of the facility. The Committee further agrees for the Housing and Community section request that the car park of the centre is included in the gateway cleaning schedule on a regular basis."

That this Council welcomes the planned increases in exchequer capital expenditure and the planned mid-term review of the Capital Programme in 2017; and calls on the Ministers for Transport and Public Expenditure to reinstate the DART Underground project to the Capital Programme, noting the strategic importance of this project in addressing traffic congestion in West Dublin and facilitating sustainable future housing supply at Adamstown and Clonburris SDZ’s.
On 22/6/16 a letter was sent to parents of children in Scoil Santain Avonbeg regarding the discovery of needles in the the adjacent playspace.Can the Superintendent undertake to maintain a regular prescence in the area over summer months to ensure this facility is secured for the use of local children? Can the Superintendent undertake to report back to this committee as to whether there is a drug issue in the area that needs to be confronted through the Gardai and/ or local drugs services?
