This committee requests that the Chief Executive agrees to support Lucan Tidy Towns in their endeavours to implement some projects around the Lucan/Village area. Two requests that they seek initial support for are: *Pollinating planting along the Lucan Road *Installation of a new litter bin/solar bin (*see detailed request below) *Large Scale Pollinator Friendly Planting: What plans have the Council in place for the autumn planting of pollinator friendly bulbs for flowering next Spring in the Lucan area? Will there be consultation with Lucan Tidy Towns to identify suitable areas? Lucan Tidy Towns are particularly interested in planting such bulbs along the Lucan Road outside the walls of St. Edmundsbury Estate. *Litter Bins for Lucan: What is the latest proposal for upgrading litter bins throughout Lucan? The majority of the bins around Lucan, especially the village, are unsightly. The recent placing of a second bin, albeit new, alongside an unsightly bins is unacceptable. What is the update on the installation of 'Belly Bins' in Lucan?
To ask the Manager to provide an update on the School Street initiative that is planned for the area.
This Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to install goal posts on the green space between De Selby Cresent & De Selby Park.
That the manager agrees to communicate with and work with Irish Water to complete an underground survey of the gullies and waste water pipes in the Coppice, Woodfarm Acres estate, Palmerstown, (vicinity of houses 78 - 102) in order to ascertain their condition and identify any works required to prevent a reoccurrence of the regular foul sewage blockages and gully blockages that result in damage to residents property.
That the Manager give a time-bound commitment to undertake outstanding hedge maintenance works which have been requested in the Palmerstown, North Clondalkin and Lucan areas in order to make footpaths accessable and reduce dangers, particularly during longer winter nights.

"To ask the Chief Executive if he can offer an update on the request for ESB to provide this Area Committee with a presentation on issues pertaining to outages in the Clondalkin Area and any structural defects or shortcomings in the area?"
"This Committee deplores the act of wanton vandalism that caused the damage to the playground slide at Corkagh Park and asks that the Chief Executive take action to secure the playground area after closing times and that this matter be brought to the attention of An Garda Siochana and also that SDCC commits to the repair and restoration of the slide as soon as is possible."
"That this Committee agrees that SDCC should require the 2 major building sites currently under construction (Monami Construction) in Clondalkin and provide a daily cleaning service along Convent Road to Fonthill Road and New Road out to Fonthill Road. To ask the Chief Executive to furnish an update, in tabular form by LEA, setting out which areas and estates have been upgraded to LED lighting, together with a schedule and timeline setting out when the remaining areas and estates will be upgraded.
To ask the Chief Executive what his strategy or approach is with the regular trimming of hedges and branches of trees that block road signs, block footpaths and block cycle paths? The motivation for the question is that I have so far in 2021 submitted over ten members reps asking for trees or hedges that are blocking roads signs, footpaths or cycle paths to be trimmed which makes me wonder how this vital service is organised?
"According to people who have bought homes off the plans at the Alanna Homes Development 'Conerpark' on the Peamount Road in Newcastle, the delay with the Irish Water connection for their homes is that SDCC will not guarantee the property rights of an adjoining landowner over whose land a wayleave for the water connection is necessary. Is this the case that SDCC are causing the delay with the people moving into Corner Park?"
