QUESTION: Councillor M. Duff

Would the Manager give this Area Committee an update on the Lease held by DCC on Mountain Park which was due to expire at the end of 2021. Has any provision been out in place for South Dublin County Council to take over the lease and what role does South Dublin County Partnership have in managing the facility? Will additional tenants, such as Tallaght Cancer Support Group, be given an opportunity of being offered a long term lease, along with the existing tenants who already use the facility?

REPLY:

The Portacabins at the location referred to are under lease with Dublin City Council who have held the lease since 1986, there is no formal agreement in place with South Dublin County and Dublin City Council in regard to these units. As we have no role in respect to the lease of the units the Economic Development Department cannot advise on the input South Dublin Partnership have in managing them and are not in a position to enter into a lease with any parties in respect to the units. Any interested parties should be advised to contact the Lessor Dublin City County Property Management Section directly.
