"This Area Committee calls on the Manager to upgrade the public area known as the Belgard Walkway, This route is used by pedestrians travelling from the Square. Parthalan Place and from the LUAS terminus. The area behind the Civic on both sides of the road is dark and overgrown, there are uninviting metal barriers and ugly bottle banks beside the start of the route the lights on the Walkway need repairs and the trees need pruning. This is a natural route for people accessing the Belgard Road and its environs and it should be a safe and well lit area for those we are encouraging to use public transport."

To ask the manager will he consider installing a drinking water fountain in Glenaulin Park or if vandalism is a concern of the manager, it could be installed within the grounds of the sports clubs where it would be less susceptible to vandalism.

"That this Area Committee calls on the Manager, in an effort to prevent bonfires, to ensure addition resources are available to the Enforcement Section before Halloween, to ensure businesses and private citizens are storing securely, all bonfire materials, particularly in the Industrial Estates of Cookstown, Broomhill, Hibernian and Greenhills Industrial Estates, and to provide a dedicated phone number to enable members of the Public to report stockpiles, in a timely manner?"

That this Area Committee agree that the Council review the section of the road improvement works at the junction of Lealand Road and Bawnogue Road with a view to increasing the turning radius at Bawnogue Road at the left entrance junction into Lealand Est and the entrance to shopping centre on right as the recently installed junction's are too restrictive and will result in traffic incidents including denying turning axis that can be safely negotiated by delivery vehicles.
